The Lie Too Big For Creationists
I have a deep disdain for creationism in every incarnation it has attempted to show its ugly face. There are two things required of creationism. Just the two, but the two requirements are so insipid, so horrendous to the intellect of human beings, it is nothing less than an ugly insult.
Creationism requires either A.) Self-imposed ignorance; or B.) Deliberate deceit.
There is the possibility of stupidity, ie., a person is simply lacking the intelligence. But this isn’t a requirement, it’s merely an opportunity to take advantage of someone’s intellectual ineptitude, which is also abhorrent.
Self-imposed ignorance. A creation absolutely must make an active decision to not expose himself to scientific/academic/philosophic criticism of his creation belief system. For a person to keep himself in the dark, to actively choose ignorance over seeking actual truth is both cowardly and a sickening display of deceit committed upon one’s own self. Or, the creationist can choose to engage in the practice of lying to others, whether it be in the form of creationist apologetics or helping to keep other creationists hidden from sound criticism, it requires of this person to misguide others. William Lane Craig seems to be enjoying another inexplicable bout of popularity in this field at present.
1.) Lie to yourself
2.) Lie to others
It’s that simple. Honest inquiry into scientific theory is not possible; representing scientific theory accurately is not possible.
This video is a great rant/vent session by one of my favorite youtubers regarding this. Enjoy.
