Cowardice, yes. I’ve been known to respond to this, particularly back when Coulter gave the phrase a rebirth after 9/11, with: there are no believers in hospital beds.
Both statements, of course, are blatantly false; however, it is a rather curious thing, a believer petitioning science and the proficiency of man to mend their bodies, rather than relying on their god to heal them for free. That there are believers in hospitals I have no doubt. It’s the potency of their belief and faith that I doubt.
